Creek Clean-Up

On California Coastal Clean-up Day (Sep 21), Roger discovered an encampment along the lower reaches of the creek while cleaning up with Terra Nova High School students. Unable to clean up all the trash that day, Roger was determined to return.

Last month ahead of the winter rains, Sharon and Roger returned to finish the work. Just off the San Pedro Terrace Hiking path, they removed the remaining trash including the thousands of Styrofoam balls that had escaped from a damaged bean bag chair. All this trash would have ended up in the Pacific Ocean if not for their efforts - thanks guys!

Going forward, the SPCWC hopes to start a regular trash clean-up effort. More information to come soon!
